Le Lion de La Fleur de Boüard is made from the estate’s young vines. The estate’s second wine since 2011, it is made by fermentation and gentle, gravity-feed extraction in small inverted truncated-cone tanks.
Le Lion expresses fruity intensity. Aged in tank with 15% new French oak, which adds subtle oaky notes.
VERT DE VIN 2018 – 91/100
« The nose is aromatic, fresh and offers power. Fruity, fresh and well-balanced on the palate, with good definition, a framework of acidity, minerality, a little tension, straightforward with power and a little smoothness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/ripe blackcurrant, juicy/ripe black cherry and lighter notes of red fruit, combined with a hint of liquorice and roasted and toasty notes. Good length »
JAMES SUCKLING 2020 – 94-95/100
“Lots of blueberry and blackberry character with firm, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. It’s full bodied and very polished. Plenty of tar and dark fruit.”
